Over if bug 560932 we discussed increasing the “hung plugin” timeout, but
ultimately decided to leave it set at 10 seconds, as the value of OOPP is
decreased if it takes painfully long to kill a hung plugin.

However, now that 3.6.4 has shipped, we are seeing an increasing number of
reports that some users are unable to play Farmville, because Farmville hangs
the browser long enough for out timeout to trigger and kill it.

An unemployed 32-year-old black Army veteran with no campaign funds, no signs, and no website shocked South Carolina on Tuesday night by winning the Democratic Senate primary to oppose Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC). Alvin Greene, who currently lives in his family’s home, defeated Vic Rawl, a former judge and state legislator who had a $186,000 campaign warchest… Despite the odds, Greene, who has been unemployed for the past nine months, said that he wasn’t surprised by his victory.

He wins life. This is how democracy is supposed to work. This idea that a person with a message, whatever it was, didn’t need a ton of money to win? Interesting. I bet the SC Democratic party is falling over themselves trying to figure out who this guy is right now, and why they didn’t know who he was before. If the party is that disorganized, I wish this man a great deal of luck with getting help from them.

- I think it’s interesting that Matt Mullenweg decided to make that a side note. As WordPress turns seven, it’s changed an entire market that for the most part, a lot of people thought was done. Six Apart had Movable Type, eveyone was using a platform, and for the most part, were comfortable. Then came a platform that changed it all.

It’s always that one moment where everyone else starts to leave that the innovators notice all of the potential for a space to grow, as well as a space to fill in gaps, make essential connections that not us as creators but actual consumers want, and take over. Here’s to WordPress.
